Terms of Use
Pigeon, last updated 17 October 2026.
The app
- Pigeon is free to use. Sending, requesting and splitting cost nothing beyond the Nimiq network itself, and Pigeon sends payments with no fee.
- Pigeon never holds your money or your keys. It only asks Nimiq Pay to send a payment, and you confirm every payment in your wallet.
Payments
- Blockchain payments cannot be reversed. Check the name, the picture on the stamp (the Nimiq Identicon) and the address before you send.
- A request or split counts as paid when a payment with its note reaches the receiving address on the Nimiq network.
- Pigeon blocks a payment when a link claims a name that belongs to a different address. It cannot protect you from every mistake or scam, so only pay people you trust.
.nim names
- A name is registered by sending its price to the Pigeon registry address with the note `nim:<name>`. The price depends on its length and is shown in the app before you pay.
- The first valid payment for a name on the Nimiq network wins. Payments for a name that is already taken, payments below the price and payments with a wrong note do not register a name, and they are not refunded.
- A registered name has no expiry. Names that are reserved, misleading or used for impersonation or abuse may be hidden in the app.
- The rules are public and anyone can check the name table against the Nimiq network.
No guarantees
- The app is provided as it is, without warranty. It is not financial advice, and the value of NIM can go up or down.
- We may change or end the app. Payments already made on the Nimiq network stay where they are.
- You are responsible for any taxes in your country.
